The Indian Ocean Club is situated in a prime location on a quiet stretch of white sandy beach, bordering a marine park on the Indian Ocean. Indian Ocean Beach Club is designed in Swahili architecture, and is adjacent to history --next to a 16th century Mosque.

The Indian Ocean Beach Club has a hundred rooms in clusters of thatched cottages and double upper level whitewashed rooms with flat rooms.

Wake up each morning to breath-taking views of a sun-drenched white sandy beach and sounds of waves at the Indian Ocean Beach Club in Mombasa. Rooms are available in thatched cottages or in double-storey buildings. This is an unparalleled experience in Kenya.

The Indian Ocean Beach Club boasts impeccable service. In ocean front rooms, all guests need do is to hoist a little yellow flag and food and drink will be brought at no extra charge.

Located on a beautiful and quiet stretch of Diani Beach on Mombasa’s South Coast, the Arabic architecture has historic roots. The Indian Ocean Beach Resort was opened in 1992. It is an exclusive, luxury resort built on the site of a 16th century mosque. The luxury resort is located on a stretch of coast that was once ruled by the sultans of Zanzibar. The resort grounds cover more than 25 acres of coconut palms and age-old baobab trees. Look out for the 600-year-old baobab tree which graces the landscape.

Guests will find antiques from the Sultanate era displayed throughout the resort. The Kenyan coast was once ruled by the rich Sultans of Zanzibar, hence the architecture is Arabic and a lot of antics from the Sultans Palace have been used as décor. Look out for an antique chandelier in the reception which was presented by British traders to the Sultan in exchange for landing rights.

On the beautiful grounds is a swimming pool and 3 plunge pools. IOBC (also sometimes referred to as Jacaranda Indian Ocean Beach Club) is on the edge of a marine park and the offshore coral reef offers great snorkeling opportunities.

Rooms in the cottages are casual beach chic and are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fan, a mini bar, free water, an ensuite bathroom with separate toilets, good size wardrobes with plenty of drawer space, tea and coffee making facilities and hair dryer.

All rooms have a patio or balcony furnished with sunbeds or furniture for lounging while enjoying awesome views of the ocean. Each room has its own personal valet who attends to room-service needs 24/7, serves tea and coffee in the morning and provides an evening turn-down service.

For the business traveler this resort is the region’s premier venue for functions. They have two conferences with secretarial support facilities, audio visual and internet connections

Surrounded by over 600 years old massive baobab trees providing an umbrella of shade, the hotel has a built terrace that is used as a giant chess board, wedding venue, dance floor, dinner and cocktail venue
